Mobiles Search for Spark After Friday Setback
RedPocket held to one run as Modesto takes the fourth game of the series
MODESTO, Calif. — The RedPocket Mobiles' opening road series continued Friday night in Modesto with a 12–1 loss to the Roadsters at John Thurman Field. After nearly pulling off a wild comeback the night before in a 12–11 thriller, RedPocket was unable to carry that momentum into the next game as Modesto bounced back with another big offensive night. The result moved the Mobiles to 0–4 to begin their inaugural Pioneer League season.
For RedPocket, the challenge was finding consistent offense against a Roadsters club that has controlled much of the opening series. The Mobiles were limited to one run for the second time in four games, matching their Opening Night output from May 19. Still, the early stretch has given RedPocket a clear look at where it needs to tighten up: extending innings, creating traffic on the bases, and turning brief flashes into sustained pressure.
The silver lining is that the Mobiles do not have to wait long for another opportunity. RedPocket continues its first-ever series against Modesto with games still scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, giving the club two more chances to finish the opening week with a breakthrough. For a team built to live on the road all season, the response after tough nights like Friday will be just as important as the final score.
