Mobiles Drop Pitchers Duel in Oakland
Kishon Frett and Marco Martinez homer, but RedPocket falls 3–2 at Raimondi Park
OAKLAND, Calif. — The RedPocket Mobiles followed their first franchise win with a tight, low-scoring battle Friday night in Oakland, falling 3–2 to the Ballers at Raimondi Park. RedPocket struck first in the second inning when Kishon Frett launched a solo home run, giving the Mobiles an early 1–0 lead. Oakland answered with a solo homer from Jaden Collura in the bottom half, then moved in front in the third on a Tremayne Cobb home run.
The Mobiles pulled even in the fourth behind another big swing from Marco Martinez, who homered for the third straight game to tie it 2–2. Martinez finished 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk, and an RBI, continuing to provide important production in the middle of the RedPocket lineup. Josiah Chavez also stayed hot with two hits, including a double, while Marquis Jackson added a single as the Mobiles finished with six hits and drew six walks.
Ren Arias gave RedPocket a strong start on the mound, allowing just two runs on four hits over six innings while walking one and striking out one. The deciding run came in the seventh, when Noah Blythe's sacrifice fly brought home Cam Bufford after an error helped extend the inning. Kade Walker kept the Mobiles within one with a scoreless eighth, but RedPocket could not push across the tying run in the ninth. It was a tough one-run loss, but the Mobiles continued to show real progress with strong pitching, clean late relief, and two more long balls from an offense beginning to find its rhythm.
