Mobiles Pitch Their Way to 7-1 Win for First Series Victory
Ubaldo Romo and the RedPocket bullpen hold Yuba-Sutter to three hits as Justin Johnson drives in three, RedPocket takes four of six from the Freebirds
MARYSVILLE, Calif. — The RedPocket Mobiles closed out their first series victory in franchise history Sunday night, defeating the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds 7–1 at Bryant Field to take four of six in Marysville. RedPocket struck first when Jordan Harrison-Dudley singled home Spence Coffman in the opening inning. Yuba-Sutter tied the game on a passed ball in the bottom half, but the Freebirds would not score again as the Mobiles' pitching staff took complete control.
Ubaldo Romo delivered a strong start for RedPocket, allowing only one run on one hit over five innings while walking two and striking out four. Agnel Miranda followed with two perfect innings and four strikeouts, Juan Abreu retired all three batters he faced in the eighth, and Wyatt Adams worked around two ninth-inning hits while striking out two. Together, the Mobiles held Yuba-Sutter to three hits and recorded 10 strikeouts.
Justin Johnson supplied the biggest swing offensively, launching a two-run home run in the third and adding another RBI on a fifth-inning groundout to finish with three RBIs. Gianni Horvat doubled home Ravaughn Morgan in the sixth, and Morgan added an RBI single in the ninth before Maury Weaver scored on a passed ball. Morgan finished 3-for-5 with a run, an RBI, and a stolen base, while Harrison-Dudley and Josiah Chavez each collected two hits. More importantly, the win secured RedPocket's first series triumph, a four-games-to-two result that marked another major step forward in the Mobiles' inaugural season.
