Nine-Run Lead Slips Away in Late Glacier Comeback
Braylon Bishop and Kishon Frett homer before the Range Riders rally for a 12–9 victory
KALISPELL, Mont. — The RedPocket Mobiles controlled the opening four innings Saturday night, building a 9–1 advantage behind 13 hits and steady production throughout the lineup. Braylon Bishop opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first, and Kishon Frett added another solo shot in the second before Spence Coffman singled home Marquis Jackson. RedPocket added three runs in the third and three more in the fourth to create its largest lead of the night.
Frett and Maury Weaver led the early offensive charge. Frett finished 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, two runs scored, and a walk, while Weaver drove in three runs. Weaver brought home Justin Johnson with a third-inning groundout, then doubled home Frett and Johnson in the fourth to make it 9–1. Bishop and Coffman each collected two hits, and Johnson also finished with two hits and two runs scored.
Ren Arias kept Glacier from mounting an early response, allowing three runs on nine hits across six innings while walking two and striking out three. The Range Riders began their comeback with one run in the sixth, then scored five times in the seventh. Glacier drew four run-producing walks and added a sacrifice fly during the inning, cutting RedPocket's lead to 9–8 without recording an extra-base hit.
Glacier completed the comeback with four runs in the eighth. An error allowed the tying run to score before Kyle Ashworth delivered a three-run double to put the Range Riders ahead, 12–9. RedPocket's offense was held without a hit after the fourth inning, and Glacier retired the Mobiles in order in the ninth. The loss marked another difficult late reversal for RedPocket after the Mobiles carried an eight-run lead into the middle innings.
