Mobiles Ride 18-Hit Attack to Statement Win in Billings
Blayne Huter goes deep into the game as RedPocket knocks off the Mustangs, 8–3
BILLINGS, Mont. — The RedPocket Mobiles opened their series in Billings with one of their most complete wins of the season, defeating the Mustangs 8–3 Tuesday night at Dehler Park. After three scoreless innings, RedPocket broke through with a five-run fourth. Justin Johnson doubled home Jordan Harrison-Dudley to start the scoring, then came home on a wild pitch before Marquis Jackson ripped a two-run double to right field. Braylon Bishop capped the inning with an RBI single, giving the Mobiles a 5–0 lead.
RedPocket kept adding on from there. Harrison-Dudley launched a solo home run to right field in the fifth, Jonathan Smith brought home Johnson with a fielder's choice in the seventh, and T.J. McKenzie singled through the left side in the ninth to score Johnson again. The Mobiles finished with 18 hits, led by three-hit games from Spence Coffman, Johnson, and Jackson. Johnson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored, an RBI, and a walk, while Jackson finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored.
Harrison-Dudley added two hits, two runs, and an RBI, while Bishop, McKenzie, and Smith each collected two hits. Bishop also stole a base, and Coffman added a stolen base as RedPocket put constant pressure on Billings throughout the night. The Mobiles scored in four different innings and handed Mustangs starter Julian Garcia his first loss of the season after tagging him for six runs on 12 hits.
Blayne Huter handled the rest, earning the win after working 7.1 innings and allowing three runs on 11 hits with no walks and five strikeouts. Billy Rozakis recorded the final two outs of the eighth, and Wyatt Adams closed it with a perfect ninth. Against a Billings club that entered the night at 31–11, RedPocket delivered 18 hits, clean defense, and steady pitching to secure an impressive 8–3 road victory.
