Mobiles Held Quiet After Billings Power Surge
RedPocket scores twice in the sixth, but Mustangs answer with seven home runs in 18–2 decision
BILLINGS, Mont. — The RedPocket Mobiles could not carry over their offensive momentum from the series opener Wednesday night, falling 18–2 to the Billings Mustangs at Dehler Park. Billings jumped ahead with two runs in the first inning, then broke the game open with four solo home runs in the second from Bodee Wright, A.J. Shaver, Michael Soper, and Charlie Muniz.
The Mustangs continued to add on, scoring five more runs in the fourth and another in the fifth before RedPocket broke through in the sixth. Edward Mateo opened the inning with a single, Braylon Bishop walked, and Spence Coffman singled to right field to bring Mateo home. Justin Johnson followed with an RBI groundout, scoring Bishop and giving the Mobiles their two runs.
RedPocket was held to four hits, with Coffman, T.J. McKenzie, Mateo, and Jonathan Smith each recording one. McKenzie supplied the Mobiles' lone extra-base hit with a double, while Jordan Harrison-Dudley and Kishon Frett each drew a walk.
Billings finished with 20 hits and seven home runs, led by Soper and Muniz with two homers apiece. A.J. Shaver went 5-for-5, completing the cycle for the third time this season while adding four runs scored and three RBIs. David Hankins limited RedPocket to two runs over eight innings, and the loss evened the series after RedPocket's 8–3 win the night before.
