Late Glacier Surge Spoils Mobiles’ Four-Run Lead
Kishon Frett homers and RedPocket collects 14 hits before the Range Riders rally for an 11–8 win
KALISPELL, Mont. — The RedPocket Mobiles built an 8–4 lead through seven innings Thursday night at Glacier Bank Park, but a seven-run eighth inning lifted the Glacier Range Riders to an 11–8 victory. Hector Nieves brought home Braylon Bishop with a sacrifice fly in the first and added another sacrifice fly in the third, while Kishon Frett erased a two-run deficit with a two-run homer in the fourth.
RedPocket moved ahead in the fifth when Justin Johnson's groundout scored Spence Coffman, then created separation with three runs in the seventh. Johnson singled home Nieves before Marco Martinez drove a two-run single into left field, scoring Josiah Chavez and Johnson to give the Mobiles an 8–4 advantage. Frett and Martinez each finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Nieves also drove in two. Bishop, Nieves, Martinez, Frett, and Marquis Jackson all stole at least one base as RedPocket finished with seven steals.
Blayne Huter allowed four runs over six innings, and Wyatt Adams followed with a scoreless seventh. Glacier then rallied for seven runs in the eighth, with Alex Fernandes delivering a go-ahead two-run single before later scoring on Carson Hornung's RBI single. The Mobiles put two runners aboard in the ninth but could not answer, leaving a strong 14-hit offensive performance overshadowed by the late comeback.
