Seven-Run Start Slips Away in Missoula Slugfest
RedPocket launches four home runs but falls 17–10 after another late PaddleHeads surge
MISSOULA, Mont. — The RedPocket Mobiles came out firing Wednesday night, scoring seven runs over the first two innings before the Missoula PaddleHeads rallied for a 17–10 victory. Braylon Bishop, Jordan Harrison-Dudley, and Justin Johnson each homered in the first inning to give RedPocket a quick 3–0 lead. Kishon Frett added a solo shot in the second, Hector Nieves followed with a two-run double, and Harrison-Dudley drove in another run with a double to stretch the advantage to 7–0.
Missoula chipped away inning by inning, scoring in every frame from the second through the eighth. The PaddleHeads cut the deficit to 7–5 by the end of the fifth, then moved ahead in the sixth on home runs from William Bermudez and Xavier Casserilla. Three more runs in the seventh pushed Missoula's lead to 11–7 before RedPocket mounted one more response.
The Mobiles scored three times in the eighth to get back within one. Frett doubled home Justin Johnson, Maury Weaver lifted a sacrifice fly to score Josiah Chavez, and Bishop singled home Frett to make it 11–10. Frett led RedPocket with three hits, including a double and a home run, while Bishop, Harrison-Dudley, and Johnson each collected two hits. Bishop also stole three bases, and Marquis Jackson added two hits, a double, a run scored, and a stolen base.
Missoula answered with six runs in the bottom of the eighth to put the game away. The PaddleHeads finished with 19 hits, while RedPocket collected 13 hits and scored 10 runs for the second straight night. The Mobiles showed plenty of early power and fought their way back into the game late, but Missoula's sustained offense proved too much in the final innings.
